What is a 3D Wellness exam?
Technology is rapidly changing the eye care industry. We utilize the latest in diagnostic equipment and are committed to keeping up with whatever advances will come next. We are extremely proud to bring to you the latest technology for early disease diagnosis and management. People often experience changes in their vision when they reach their 40s. An OCT exam can aid in the detection and monitoring of serious eye diseases. As we grow older, our retinas may change in ways not always visible on the surface and without physical symptoms. To look out for the early signs of eye conditions, in case there’s a more serious problem, we use an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) device. It takes a detailed 3D image below the surface of your retina, giving us a more detailed picture of your eye health.
What is an optical coherence tomography (OCT)?
The Zeiss Cirrus optical coherence topography (OCT) is a breakthrough technology that quickly and painlessly provides a high-definition; three-dimensional scan of your retina, generating extraordinary detailed images for your doctor’s clinical assessment. Disease such as age related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma can be detected and managed at their earliest stages when treatment is most effective.
When should I get a 3D wellness exam?
We recommend having a 3D wellness exam at least every year. However, if you’re experiencing any of the following symptoms below please call us or book an eye appointment straight away so we can help you find out what’s wrong:
Trouble reading or concentrating on any activity that requires fine vision, straight lines appear wavy or bent, faces are hard to see, and you see dark or empty patches in the centre of your vision.
